How to Join Mission Corp USA

We strongly encourage all new recruits to take time to research and learn about MCUSA because we want a long-term partnership with you. There is so much more to learn about the mission than what can be expressed on paper. Please take advantage of available resources (current MCUSA members, website, written materials and brochures) to learn more. You may also attend an outreach or meeting to understand the overall mission on a local and national scale. While you consider joining MCUSA, you can show support for our mission by purchasing an MCUSA T-shirt.

 

Please note that no experience is required to be a part of this mission. The only requirement is a desire to help others in need.

 

  1. Review, consent to and sign MCUSA’s Mission and Vision Statements.

  2. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Children 17 years of age or younger must present a permission slip signed by a parent/guardian and be accompanied by a parent/guardian or group in order to be involved.

  3. Complete the application in its entirety and choose your mission preference,

  4. Submit an essay of 100 words or less explaining why you want to do missionary work.

  5. Submit a letter of recommendation and letter of character reference.

  6. There are two types of memberships: Active and Non-Active. Active members are volunteers on call for different missions who may receive a stipend for services. Non-Active members are unpaid volunteers on call for various missions. Active members pay a $50 annual membership fee and receive an MCUSA T-shirt and membership card. Non-Active members receive free membership.

  7. Active members must send their $50 membership fee with name, address, email address, cell phone number, age, occupation and T-shirt size to Mission Corps USA, P.O. Box xxxx, Newark, NJ 07102. Acceptable forms of payment are PayPal account, credit card, debit card or check. Please make checks payable to MISSION CORPS USA, INC.

  8. Active members must volunteer a minimum of 12 hours a month. Other members must volunteer a minimum of 7 hours a month. These hours may be divided into fundraising or field time.

 

Once an application has been processed, an MCUSA staff member will contact the applicant and answer any questions. You will also receive an email with your Mission Plan and more information on next steps.
